But, when all the representatives have similar backgrounds, we do not benefit from the richness of experiences and perspectives that make America great. 50-50 by 2020® is the goal for 50% women and 50% men in government by the year 2020, the 100th anniversary of the right to vote for women. About the Logo The logo is intended to depict a window to the future. The colors, forest green and ocean blue, represent the breadth and depth of what is possible when all Americans participate equally. The lower half is a mirror image of the upper half, because the strength of American democracy is a reflection of the strength of the American people.
